« Our business today concerns the teas that were the subject of the race which concluded in Liverpool just over a week ago, on Friday, twenty-second of August.…« This was a race between the steamer Dragon and the clipper Elizabeth Miller. The two ships raced each other home to England from Ceylon, via the Indian Ocean, the Cape of Good Hope and north by Africa and the race was completed in exactly sixty days. A considerable achievement. The race was very close in the final stages and the Elizabeth Miller was the first of the two ships to tie up at the quay.
