En lisant l'article de Richard Dufour, je m'étonne d'abord de son pdg

L’émission d’actions que l’entreprise vient de compléter a été plus de 30 fois sursouscrite, selon son PDG Sylvain Toutant.

puis de son bailleur de fonds devenu cofondateur

La personne qui bénéficie le plus de l’explosion du titre hier est le principal actionnaire et cofondateur, Herschel Segal, qui a vendu une petite portion de ses actions dans le cadre de l’émission. 

Un peu plus loin, David apparaît, enfin.

L’homme d’affaires de 84 ans, qui est aussi le fondateur et actionnaire de contrôle de la chaîne montréalaise de magasins de vêtements Le Château, a créé David’s Tea en 2008 en compagnie de David Segal, 34 ans. Herschel Segal est le frère du grand-père de David Segal.

Voici ce que le pdg lui reconnaît (édité par le journaliste?) :

"La compagnie a été bâtie avec l’énergie de David et l’expérience de Herschel."

j'ai cherché dans lapresse en ligne où l'article de Julien Arsenault est chapeauté d'une photo où l'on voit nettement le grand-oncle et son neveu David à sa droite, dont il n'est fait aucune mention dans le texte. Je visite le site de l'entreprise

 Le grand-oncle serait plutôt un cousin. Et je me souviens que le siège social se trouvait dans la ville voisine, Mont-Royal, et qu'il fallait commander en ligne jusqu'à ce qu'une succursale ouvre sur le Plateau (aucun lien avec la ville précédemment nommée). Je me souviens aussi d'interviews publiés, dans lesquels le jeune David racontait comment l'idée lui était venue,

It’s tea time for Le Château founder Herschel Segal, who rang the bell at the NASDAQ stock exchange in New York Friday to signal the initial public offering of David’s Tea, the chain of shops he founded in 2008 on a notion from his young cousin and co-founder, David Segal.
Herschel Segal, who built Le Château from a menswear shop in Place Victoria in 1959 to a cross-Canada fashion chain, is on the board of the David’s Tea and is major shareholder. David is in management, has some shares — and his name on the company banner.

KM: That’s a big moment when you say I’m not going to be CEO anymore, I’m going to step down. What did you recognize that you decided to step down?
DS: I started it at 27 and I’m 33 now so you know the company grew faster than I was able to gain years of experience and it got to the point where I had never run a major company  (like David’s Tea)  that was doing a lot of sales and had multiple stores and I don’t know if I saw it as clearly as I should have at the time but Hersch, my partner, certainly did.
I think it’s one of the smartest things I ever did and to be honest with you, I think I’ve learned more in the years since I wasn’t the CEO and getting the opportunity to work with and under some very talented people. So it was great for me.
